Day Twenty-Three:
“Change”
-Dustin Carbonera, a child of the arts
This is an essential part for survival. This is how we cope. This is how we live. Right now, this is what we should do right now.
Take Michael Jackson’s song. It says everything.
Day Twenty-Two:
“Chances”
-Jacque Yabut, future wife and boss of Dustin Carbonera
This one hits the spot. I really think that Jacque is one of the best when it comes to doing a job, well, work that is related to her passion–hospitality. Just like what Robin said in the Skyflakes commercial, all she needs is her break…her chance.
Day Twenty:
“Renewed Lungs”
-Janet Gonda, half-sister by blood but full sister by heart
She is Janet Gonda, my sister. She has weak lungs, that’s why I like to make her laugh because it pains her. But it is not by my sadistic nature why I still do that even though it is hard for her, but it is by the thought that amidst her condition, she still aims to be happy. But I would wish her renewed lungs too, so that she can “laugh her lungs out”.
Day Eighteen:
“Rebirth”
-Kiko Matsing, a Batibot (children’s show) icon
Rebirth can be understood in many ways. It can be rebirth of self; shedding of the old persona to become a new and better one. It can also be rebirth in the sense that we come back from a past that we either want to or should forget. Either way, it is a concept very personal. We should keep in mind that we should aim for rebirth; it is our way of coping up. Survival.
As for Kiko, well, my concept is literal rebirth. Can somebody fund batibot again?
Day Seventeen:
“Hope”
-Mr Barber, who took the extra mile in cutting my, err, hair
Peace. A five letter word, simple yet very complex in nature. It is so complex, we as a nation have not yet fully grasped the idea. Even as individuals, I do not think we have understood its concept. But I do hope we do.
Day Sixteen:
“Hope”
-Raffy Tesoro, renowned Production Designer-slash-Art Director
I had a very fortunate chance of meeting this person, and even had an impromptu art class/seminar from him at his own home! Talk about being lucky. Well, he calls it ‘fate’.
Anyway, I can really relate to his wish: Hope. Hope is what we need right now in the Philippines. The lack of it is one great predicament that we must overcome. If not, a dream of progress will never be realized.
Day Fifteen:
“Love”
-Mhel, server from Joey Pepperoni
Love is an essential feeling, an emotion that emanates positivity. I wouldn’t wonder as well why all of us wants love. According also to the Good Book, of all the virtues, Love is the greatest of them all.
*Side story: Joey Pepperoni’s food is the best!
