The Stage Boyfriend

The Proud Boyfriend
She is now, officially, a proud graduate as well.
Well, she already graduated for months now, but it is just last Wednesday that I got her diploma.
If not mistaken (and I know I’m not), she is the first in the family to have her college degree finished. And this college diploma is also the first. Nonetheless, all of her older sisters (and a brother) did very well in life.
So here I am, flaunting proudly her diploma. So proud.
Yeah, stage boyfriend. Haha!XD

Bakbakan 5 : Muay Thai and MMA Showdown
Just as Bruce Buffer says it in UFC: “It’s time!”
Team Biagtan and Lotus Central Mall, along with other sponsors Asian Star Balita, National Muay Thai Kickboxing Council of the Philippines, Skycable and The Bomb 91.9, presents with pride Bakbakan 5: Muay Thai and MMA Showdown.
With the success of the other four installments of the contests, here comes another great clash, with fighters contending to become the best. Every fighter will have the same arsenals: all of their eight limbs, but will differ on the thirst and will to win.
The battleground will be at Lotus Central Mall’s fourth floor. August 8 will be the Day of Reckoning.
For other information, you may contact Master Ray Biagtan of Team Biagtan at +639108630931.
Relax, I’m just going back to…
…yes, back to the green landscapes of DLSU-D!
I think it has been a year or so that I have last set foot on this school. Man, I sure missed the place, the people, the atmosphere. Everything’s very different inside of it. When I was in college, I can’t wait to go out, but coming back here is just…uh, nostalgic?
The original plan was to: get Jacque’s diploma, go to the BroadJourn General Assembly, and give Mars (college friend) her 2007 yearbook. What really happened was a mini-reunion as some familiar faces turned up for the event.

A campus tour? The DLSU-D radio booth
After the GA (well, I missed most of it), we went for a “tour”. Sir Artin (college prof) went on to brag changes on the facilities used by current students. Bummer. We now have a better studio.@_@

With Ms. Sarile and Mr. Valerio
Of course, to complete the “reminisce” part is to pay visit to our dear department head, Ms Sarile. Had some chat with her, and I was really a bit shy because….yes, I am not in the media industry as expected from a journ graduate.

"The Dopple Gang"
Here’s Christian Taluban (current journ student) and William Eusores… alleged look-a-likes of your truly. Do they really look like me?

I missed these guys. T_T
Of course, the customary group shot outside. Haha.
Sosyalera.net | A Mirror of the True Pinoy street lifestyle… the “sosyal” way
I was browsing for random sites and googled whatever word popped in my head. I forgot what was my keyword but thanks to that, I found this wonderful site–Sosyalera.net
With her witty use of the Filipino language and nasty (but true) remarks on some social trends (err, trends?), I immediately got hooked with this blogsite.
Truly, her tagline “Street Fashion. Social Ranting. Pinoy Jologs Culture.” really lives up to its name. To Leyn, thanks for being a good (and responsible) writer.
I really suggest this site for reading. She’s like your Bob Ong, girl version, with inclination on fashion. Hah.
AKO MISMO vs ANO TAYO

Ako Mismo (Chris Tiu) | Are we being mislead?
According to the website of Ako Mismo:
Ako Mismo is a patriotic initiative anchored on optimism. It is a battle against indifference and the feeling that the individual is helpless. Amidst all the bad news and negativism gripping the nation, Ako Mismo provides a refreshing message of hope and empowerment. It is an apolitical and inclusive movement to energize and rejuvenate Filipinos, especially the youth, and move them to action. It is our collective desire that the action arising from our individual commitments as Ako Mismo advocates will mobilize a groundswell of change, contributing to a bright future for our country.
Sad reality about these kind of “advocacies” (e.g. iamninoy), they tend to lack the “real drive”. Yes they are well publicized but the fact that their advocacies really do not make noise on the drive they are pushing through, rather, they become mere fashion statements. They are indeed cool but come to think of it, who did realize what they put on the “wall of commitment”? Yes, I thought so. Nobody.
The entire act of putting up the “advocacy” is to help people have this focus onthe goal of a better tomorrow for our nation. It seems that we are but mere citizens blinded by fad. (warning, cliche ahead) Sad, but yes, true.
Look out DAVAO! Project Headshot Clinic is headed your way!

This timely advocacy will gather different youths across the country — gathering high school and college students and young professionals from Baguio to Davao.

Dustin Carbonera | A Year Older
I turned a year older today. Time to bring up a clean slate and start anew.
As for the old me, here are my thoughts:
Thank you friends for being in it. Thank those who stayed with you through the years and thank those who will be a part of it.
Thank your family for supporting it. Life, of course, is hard but with your family, it would have been impossible to go through.
Thank Jacque, for believing in you, and trusting you all the way. She is your partner, your friend, your confidant. Thank her for being the best.
Lastly, thank God for making you. Your life wouldn’t exist if He didn’t allow it in the first place. It is only just that you thank Him each and everyday of your life.
Oh, before you forget, thank yourself for being you. Continue to be you.
Don’t Toy with Me! Toy Con at SM Megamall

SM Megamall Toy Con | Alodia
Despite of the rumors of AH1N1 virus case in SM Megamall, Jacque and I still went on and pushed through with our plan… to go to the Toy Con!
It was my first time to go to an event like this. I have watched a lot of these in the TV and seen a lot of pics in different websites but being there is really ecstatic. There were so many people! The cool thing about it is that… well, many of them were in costumes of all sorts! I saw DoTA (Defense of the Ancients) characters, Bleach, Naruto, and even Bumblebee from Transformers come into life as these die-hard fans depicted them.

SM Toy Con | Cute Toys!
It wouldn’t be complete without, well, TOYS! And they come in cheap prices too. Plus comics. 20 pesos each! I bought around 5 comics, and 2 pieces from the five-part series of Captain America’s death. Sheesh. If only I brought enough dough!
We had a blast looking at these:

SM Toy Con | Hulk and Juggernaut

SM Toy Con | Voltes V!

SM Toy Con | Optimus Prime

SM Toy Con | Jacque and Lilo
And this guy….?

SM Toy Con | The Royal Tru Orange robot?
And look at this cool gallery!

SM Toy Con | Hall of Heroes
And I cannot forget, these courageous individuals that went to SM with these “human” clothes.

SM Toy Con | Bleach

SM Toy Con | L from Deathnote

SM Toy Con | Rylai the Crystal Maiden
**Note: My favorite DoTA character! Rylai! Woot!

SM Toy Con | Hold up, Star Wars style
This is the only shot that she wanted that day.

SM Toy Con | The Apple of Sin
Not really OF SIN, but for me, that could be a symbol for the apple that Ryuk always want. Or I’m just inventing things… again.
)

SM Toy Con | Inuyasha
And this guy… Everybody knows him!:

SM Toy Con | Baboybee meets Bumblebee
The unplanned Tagaytay Getaway
What do you do on a boring Saturday? Go somewhere!
The original plan is that I go at Jacque’s house and just chill. Upon arriving at her house, she said that we are going to Tagaytay. Reaction: “Oh…Cool!”
I mean, yeah, Tagaytay shouldn’t be a big deal. But going there with her and her sister Ate Helen and her sister’s friend Ate Sheryl and her nephew Dane is cool. Just chilling and eating out can really be a de-stresser.
Here are some pics that we had at Tagaytay.

Tagaytay Getaway | Ate Sheryl and Ate Helen

Tagaytay Getaway | Jacque taking a call?

Tagaytay Getaway | The cold...cold iced tea

Tagaytay Getaway | Dane's World

Tagaytay Getaway | Jump Glam

Tagaytay Getaway | Yes, I did jump!

Tagaytay Getaway | Dragonball Effect
